Why is it called The Save Room?
The name is inspired by the classic save room or checkpoint mechanic found in many games. Examples often include RPG save rooms, Souls-like bonfires, The Last of Us workbenches, and other similar checkpoint area. Save rooms give players a moment of rest from hostile worlds, allowing them to regroup, plan, and prepare for what’s next. The Save Room aims to provide that same feeling: a safe, welcoming place for gamers to unwind, reflect, and recharge.
What started this project?
The Save Room began as a long-standing idea to build a game-centered website created with gamers in mind. It took shape during a time when we felt traditional gaming journalism didn’t fully reflect the values or voices of players. We wanted to create a space where gamers could share their own reviews, opinions, and perspectives.
